About
We are a networking group for the hospitality and tourism industry. Our meeting programs are geared toward the interests of the industry and our community at large. During these meetings there may be training or certifications for personal development or industry knowledge.
Our January meetings are devoted to educating our East Tennessee Region State Legislators about the industry. Each year we invite them to lunch and provide information about legislation that will come before them during the current legislative session in Nashville.
Our annual Stars of the Industry lunch in May provides recognition of the outstanding performances of our staffs within the hotels, restaurants, service/suppliers and venues of the Greater Knoxville area. The Pauly Award winners are our leaders and stars. Our raising stars, who are students in the Hotel/Tourism/Culinary programs at the University of the Tennessee and Pellissippi State Community College, are presented with scholarships to further their education in our field.
The Greater Knoxville Hospitality Trade Show is scheduled for August and is a fantastic networking and sales opportunity. We produce this trade show in corroboration with the Regional AAHOA organization to provide a larger audience and greater opportunity to our vendors.
A Golf Classic is scheduled every year to help us raise funds for our GKHA Hospitality/Tourism Education Scholarships. Another networking opportunity under a less formal setting, this is always a great time to entertain clients and potential customers while providing funds for students who are the future of the industry.
The Housekeeping/Hospitality Championship Games in November is a team building event which is always fun and very competitive. Our service/suppliers sponsor games and act as judges and referees. This is an opportunity to advertise and marketing products and services plus interact with the teams.
